Weekend!

Excellent work this week 7B!

Everything is coming to together well: the First Nations vs. New France history projects look awesome, the first few math tests I marked today were great and many of you (already) seem ready for the History test!

Math
-Two-dimensional measurement test part two on Tuesday (You will get part one of your tests back on Monday, so you can correct mistakes and do some review BEFORE part #2)
-Part two includes: composite shapes, trapezoids, word problems

English
-Finish your five senses descriptive writing, if not done in class
-Keep planning your narratives (we will start on Monday!)

History
-Test is on Monday (the questions will be posted by Saturday morning)
-The FULL First Nations vs,. New France project is due NEXT FRIDAY (please DO NOT be late, we will have our History Fair the week after)
-The FULL project includes two models and the research component
-Research organizers will be handed out on Monday for the written component

-We will finish our composite shape problem (The OCAD Sculpture) tomorrow and do a final review
- Solve for the area of any two or three composite shapes below (show formula, substitution step, answer with proper units)
-You can solve more than three if you would like some extra challenge!

Perimeter Review - Word Problems
1. Delilah and Spence wanted a deck built onto their house. They wanted the deck to be a five sided shape with each side being 12 feet long. What is the perimeter of the deck?

2. The Providence Children’s Museum installed a fence around the perimeter of the property. The property is a rectangle. One side is 37 feet long, and the entire
perimeter is 164 feet. What are the measurements of the other three sides?

3. Jellystone Park, Hill Country, put in a new bounce pillow. It is rectangular shape with the longer side being 27 feet and the shorter side being 19 feet. What is the perimeter of the bounce pillow?

4. The Grand Canyon National Park has a new parking lot. The perimeter is 84 feet. The shape of the parking lot is a square. What is the length of each side?

5. Our new pool has been installed and we need to put up a fence. The pool is an
oval shape, but, the fencing will be rectangular. The two adjacent sides will be 17
feet long and 26 feet long. What will the perimeter of the new fence be?
