-February articles should be completely written by tomorrow (the ones I have read so far are very interesting!)

-Finish answering TWO of the four open-ended questions from the article we read together in class today (I will mark your best one - due tomorrow, if not finished in class)

Learning Goal: Make sure you can identify which questions are closed and open-ended questions, and make sure you can explain the difference between them

-Also, create two of your own closed questions and one open-ended question for the article

Banning Cell Phones in Middle Schools - Article Questions


1.     Do you think only students that have shown the ability to act “responsibly” should be allowed to use their cellphones in class?
2.     Who was consulted before making the decision to ban cell phones at Earl Grey School?
3.     With evidence from your experiences, at what age do you feel student responsibly learn to use cell phones?
4.     According to the article, what are the two main reasons cell phones were banned?
5.     When are cell phones permitted at Earl Grey?
6.     What are the restrictions during this time?
7.     Imagine you were a Principal running an elementary school. Explain what your cell phone would policy be, and why.
8.     Do you feel the advantages of allowing cellphones in the classroom outweigh the disadvantages?
