Surface Area and Volume Vocabulary + Introduction to Volume of Rectangular Prisms

*Use Chapter 8 to help with all questions below
  1. Sketch a rectangular prism. Neatly label a face, vertex and edge.
  2. Explain what a polygon is.
  3. Explain what a regular polygon is.
  4. List all polygons from three sides to ten sides.
  5. Explain what a polyhedron is.
  6. List seven common polyhedrons.
  7. Explain the difference between prisms and pyramids.
  8. Make a quick sketch of the front, top and side view for the box structure at the front of the class.
  9. Choose the corresponding net for each three-dimensional shape. Label the ones that are polyhedrons.
  10. List all regular polyhedra. Beside each one, write the number of faces and the shape of each face.
  11. Write down two formulas that can be used to calculate the VOLUME of a rectangular prism.
  12. Calculate the volume of a shoe box that measure 28cm long, 18cm wide and 20cm tall. Show all work (formula, substitution, answer). Include proper units!
  13. A tetra pack of three juice boxes is 21cm across, 7cm deep and 10cm tall. What is the volume of each box? Show all work (formula, substitution, answer). Include proper units.
