Weekend!
Great work this week 7B!!

*Thanks again to all volunteers that finished our last few "Hours of Code" - every single class in Grade 1 through 8 at JSB was exposed to basic computer programming! Amazing work!

*Please bring more goods for our "around the classroom" food drive!!! Remember, I will MATCH whatever the class brings!

*Bowling/Cloverdale trip is next Tuesday!
*Dance next Friday afternoon ($5 or three non-perishable food items)
*Movie afternoon next Thursday!

*Pizza lunch money and forms (if interested) - due as soon as possible - Pizza lunch is on Friday, Dec 23

*Please remember that if you have any incomplete work, JSB policy is that you do not attend the dance next week. Get it done! See me if you need any extra help or time!!!

Math
-Read over the "Identifying Trends in Graphs" section on page 313 of the textbook
-Complete pg. 315-317#4,5,6,7,10,13,14,15,16
-Next week we will cover Mean, Median, Mode and Range

English
-Finish BOTH articles for our magazine by Monday
-Try to make sure they are fully edited/proofread
-Our student editors will read them Monday and Tuesday, and you will make any corrections they suggest on Wednesday
-Make sure you keep track of any websites, articles or books used for your research
-Start on your "entertainment section" if you have time

Suggestions for Articles:

1. An Opinion Piece or Persuasive Essay – A convincing argument on a topic of your choice (i.e. – Should drones be sold to the general public? Should schools have uniforms?)
2. Technology Review – Describe and critique a technology of your choice (i.e. – 3-D printers or     pens, self-  driving cars, flying cars)
3. An Imaginary Interview with one of your Idols, Heroes or a Historical Figure.
4. A Short Fictional Story (Narrative)
5. A Current Issue or Event (In your community, country or globally)
6. A Scientific Topic of your interest (i.e. – stem cell research, medical advances)
7. A Travel Article (A Country or City of interest)
8. A Poem (Any style)
9. Procedural Writing (How It’s Made / How It Works)
10. A review or critique of a movie, album, book, song, product, etc
11. An interesting or humorous dialogue between two or more people.
12. Review or discussion of major sporting events (Olympics. World Series, Soccer Final, Etc.)
13. Biography of an amazing person.
14. Inferencing “riddles” or mysteries
15. *Other ideas are welcome, but should be discussed with your teacher.

Length/Writing Conventions: Each article should be approximately 1-2 page (12-14 point font, font and format of your choice, not double spaced). They should include proper spelling, challenging and interesting word choice, proper grammar, punctuation and paragraph form.

Entertainment Piece Suggestions: Crossword, Word Search, Word Scramble, Riddles/Brain Teasers, Infographic (i.e. – Fastest Cars on Earth, World’s Tallest Buildings), Make your own Math Problems, Sudoku, etc. 

History
-Tableau presentations on Monday
-Finish scripts, and bring in any props needed
