-Excellent work on your transformations vocabulary quiz today: transformations, translation(slide), reflection (flip), rotation (turn), cartesian co-ordinate system, quadrants (1-4), origin, x-axis(horizontal), y-axis(vertical), pre image, image, prime symbols
-If you did not complete our translation/reflection mini-assignment please do so for homework:
- Draw and properly label a Cartesian co-ordinate system whose x and y values extend from -10 to +10. Include labels for the x and y axis. In quadrant two draw a polygon with five vertices that IS NOT symmetrical. Label the vertices ABCDE. This is your pre-image. (Level 1)
- Reflect your pre-image across/over the y-axis carefully and label the image you have created properly with prime symbols. (Level 2)
- Next, reflect your image(A’B’C’D’E’) across/over the x-axis carefully and label the image you have created properly (A’’B’’C’’D’’E’’) with double prime symbols.(Level 3)
- Describe two different tranformations that would return your second image (A’’B’’C’’D’’E’’) back to its initial/starting position in quadrant two. (Level 4)
